The Paper Dog

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO TO YOU!

So I really have not been lost at all.  Just taking time out for a bit while I did a little self discovery.  Thanks for visiting again and not forgetting about me!  I don't want to bore you with a giant story of my life the past couple months so I'll just give you some of the highlights.

After my Grandpa passed away, it was time to really focus on my life, my Nana and enjoy time with all the people I adore.  So while I stepped away from my blog, I have been oh so very busy!

Always in my Heart
I signed up for another online class.  It was Soul Restoration 2 with Melody Ross and a whole huge group of amazing, inspiring Brave Girls!  WOW.  I am still in the process of creating my Life Book but let me tell you, the questions I had to answer about life and my beliefs, thoughts, goals, ideas and my spirit were eye opening.  I would recommend this class to anyone.  My Life Book is not complete but I work on it bit by bit every day with paint, ink, paper, junk and words.  Lots and lots and lots of words.  MY words, MY thoughts, MY very own ME!

I also took the time to enjoy a trip I took with my 87 year old Nana.  We packed up some clothes, a picnic basket, my GPS and away we went.  We started off heading south, then a bit west, then more and more south.  Every night we stayed in a different hotel, in a different state and it was totally amazing.  The best part of the entire trip was not the beautiful scenery, antique malls, thrift shops, trying on hats everywhere we went, eating apple pie at one of my grandparents old haunts or even Donna Downey's studio.  It was the moments right before falling asleep.  You know those moments like on the Waltons with everyone in the family saying goodnight?  Well, this was more, so much more.  Me and Nana in the darkness of the night, would talk....just talk.  Just me and her.  About nothing and about everything.  For 2 magical weeks I learned so much about life though my Nana's heart, her mind and her soul.  I know for a fact am THE luckiest girl alive and I will forever cherish those memories!
My beautiful Nana
Now, I'm back at home.  Busy, like all of you getting ready for Thanksgiving.  I'm working on some items for my trunk show and of course, my continued daily work on my Life Book.  I also signed up for a couple classes with Christy Tomlinson.  I'm currently taking her She Art 2 class which I just love.  Her 12 Artsy Ornaments of Christmas class will be coming up soon.  TWELVE artists that I look up to are teaching for 5 days.  And it's not pricey at all....so worth it!   Best of all, there's still time for you to sign up!

Okay, so now I think you are all caught up.  Time for me to get out some linens and start sewing today.  Much to do.  In my head I hear the little voice of Mr. Hinkle from Frosty the Snowman saying, "busy, busy, busy".  It's getting to be that time of year again!  Have a great day and see you tomorrow...must fill my creative soul.  I hope you do too today!

Michelle, it sounds like you have been having an awesome journey these last couple of months. I'm so glad that you were able to spend that time with your Nana just taking a journey and exploring yourselves. Welcome back. Look forward to seeing all that you are learning.
